CAPE

Culturally Adapted Programs for Emotional and Physical Safety

CAPE

We teach emotional, verbal and physical techniques for safety of the body, the mind and the community. The participants practice safety skills designed to help them face gender-based violence, emotional threats and strained relationships.

Our unique program combines methods from Empowerment Self-Defense, resilience building and psycho-social support. These methods have been researched and positively linked to risk reduction, self-efficacy and decreasing PTSD symptoms.

CAPE is designed to promote gender parity, skills building, and harm mitigation. This kind of work was recommended to the European Union as a powerful method for preventing and combating Gender-based Violence.
